According to who? People do it all the time. Me being one of them for the very reason you stated. I have several of my own personal publications, each with its own genre. After 30 days to whichever publication published it, I pull it. There is no point in leaving it there when it's buried and no one is going to see it. Also as you said, it's a waste.

I use my pubs like drawers of a filing cabinet. I pull the piece and then "file" it accordingly. My pubs are still new so the stories are manageable and easy for new readers to locate.
