And this is where I've been thinking about picking your brain.
A couple of weeks back I pitched a new healthcare initiative to a local not-for-profit hospital. They have one grant writer whose full-time job it is to keep the hospital afloat. I've gotten a preliminary yes. I'm waiting to hear back if they're going to decide to move forward with the project or not.
I have offered to work for free in any way that they need help. I am not without a few contacts from relatives who work at the local fire department to a reporter with the Washington Post. So my efforts could be as small as grassroots support from local organizations like the fire department to writing a story for the Post or being interviewed by the Post.
I just don't know where to start. Money is their biggest issue and I think that's why they're still mulling it over. The initiative has merit and is a needed community service that is currently unavailable. I just don't know how to quickly get them an infusion of cash to move the project from a maybe to a yes.
I can do a trickle ongoing by publishing a series of children's books that I am developing. It won't be huge money but every dollar counts. The same goes for the tee shirt line that I am designing.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have no issues with a Honey Do List of calls to make, emails to send, or letters to write.
