Anyone care to guess what this seemingly random set of numbers are?

Read times on what’s left in my reading list of which I am now down to 21. Anything five minutes and under? Done. The 6s might get a glance over. If I can push myself through the 7s I will but I’m warning you.

I only have one Red Bull left and I need that to clean out my drafts of which there are 33.

Am I the only one who has read from Medium Staff’s own lips that the sweet spot on here is 5–7 mins? And yes, technically, if you’re in that range you’ve hit the sweet spot. But guess what? By the time I’ve read 100 other posts that were under 5 mins, I’m too tired to read your rendition of Gone With The Wind.

And how about the two that are over 20 mins each? What in the actual hell? Even as a 2-part series of 10 mins each is still too long. Divide it by three maybe?

All sixes. Dead ass in the middle of the sweet spot. Now, ask yourself. Would YOU want to read a 3-part series on how much Medium sucks? Or the latest glitch for 20 mins? I can’t think of anything I’d want to read for 20 mins straight. One is about a writing challenge. If your writing challenge is so complex that it takes more than 20 mins to go over it, you may want to cancel that challenge.

The other 20 min boner is about some “controversy” and no, it doesn’t involve the Middle East. It isn’t even about politics. From what I can gather without reading it is it’s about something that sounds like issues with a vanity press. That takes 20+ mins??

Come on, man.

I’ve been busy adulting and being sick for 2 weeks now. I don’t have time to read something that long let alone 2 somethings that long. So yes, I’ve removed them from my read list. The titles did their trick. They pulled me in. But the amount of time I was going to have to spend in the velvet ropes waiting to get to the promised land was just too much.

I’m going to go back through this list one more time but not to read. To cut. I’ve got no more completed works ready for next week. That has happened to me in over a month. I’ve been as much as a week and a half scheduled out. Good thing I had been too or Mr. Al Go Rithm would have long forgotten about me by now. So this weekend it’s going to be all about the writing. I’ve got to get at least a weeks’ worth in the can before Monday.

I’m still recovering, have bought a car, am apartment shopping. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
