Because fibro, and CFS, and a host of other physical ailments aren't enough... Adding PTSD to the mix made the party complete!
I suspect that I had it for years but managed to keep it in check by ignoring it. Then 9/11 happened. I lived about 20 minutes from the impact site at the Pentagon. At the time I worked for the feds doing, of course, disaster response and recovery.
20 years on I can now watch bits and pieces of the anniversary shows that the media feels compelled to show. I don't have the flashbacks until they happen, even if I don't watch them.
At this point in time I can talk about it a little and write about it even more. I wonder if I will live long enough to not have a reaction to it ever again.
