I haven’t even finished my story on Jeff Beck yet!

I woke in the middle of the night recently and learned of Lisa Marie. Go back to sleep and when I woke up again I learned of Jeff Beck. I’m still working on that piece. And now this. Waaaaat is going on 2023?? You have our attention!

The photo above is how I remember him. That was taken in 1999. His beginnings were before my time but in researching him I found that he began his musical career with The Byrds. They had their first number-one hit in April 1965 with a cover of “Mr. Tambourine Man” by Bob Dylan. Yet even though I was only two when the song was released I remember hearing and would sing along with the record as a teenager. That’s timeless music right there.

A surprise that I found was this tidbit. Crosby was the recipient of a highly publicized liver transplant in 1994, which was paid for by Phil Collins. News of his transplant created some controversy because of his celebrity status and his past problems with drug and alcohol addiction. Crosby's liver problems stemmed from a long run with hepatitis C. I think I vaguely remember this and came down on the side of the people telling Phil no. If he willfully destroyed the liver he was given for free why would he treat one that he didn’t pay for any better?
