Don't go by follower counts. Look at their ratios. If they followed 30k to get 15k then they've not only violated Medium Rules, but they've cheated the system and screwed the algo.

Look at their ratios. Look at the quality of their writing, the genres they write in and the publications they submit too. At least that's what I do.
