Her accusations cost him his Pirate role which was very lucrative for him. Disney has yet to say whether or not they will now change their mind. Even if they do, he has said he won't do another movie. Who can blame him? Innocent until proven guilty apparently holds no weight with Disney.

As to the second part. I've watched enough interviews of JD as well as watching him in action while working with Make a Wish. I don't see that side to him at all.
