Here We Go With Feelpinions Again
Ya’ll are exhausting.
Question for you serious writers out there. Is it “mean” to say that “Medium doesn’t owe you anything. Be grateful to even have the platform.”
Yeah, I didn’t think so either.
Yet another “writer” who thinks that Medium owes them something.
I do believe in giving credit where credit is due. This writer went on to say that not everything Medium does is a gotcha to “purposefully suppressing” your posts.
But then they segue right back into Medium needs us and not the other way around. There’s a word for this… wait… it’ll come to me… give me a sec…
Egotistical?
e·go·tis·ti·cal

adjectiveExcessively conceited or absorbed in oneself; self-centered. (Oxford Languages)
Yep. That’s the word alright. Mediocre “writers” are a dime a dozen. They can sprint but what they can’t do is a marathon. And Medium is a marathon. You have to be able to go the distance.
This writer swings back and forth widely on the definition of a writer. Writer is used to mean writer, reader, customer, and that’s off the top of my head. Their actual words. You and I both know this is flat-out wrong.
