Here’s Why I’m NOT Featuring YOU As a Writer on Medium
I find you disappointing.
Dear Almost Featured Writer,
I just deleted your story from my drafts. It was going to be an uplifting, “this writer is great please check them out” type of feature. More like the kind where I see or in this case saw the potential in you and wanted to open a dialogue with you.
Your name would have been put in front of my nearly 700 followers in a publication with over three-thousand. We could have had a dialog where I acknowledged your contributions and pointed out where our ideas differ and why. We could have informed and perhaps even entertained readers.
But then your writing took a hard left. The likes of which is there is no discussing. Anything. Ever.
When did it become okay to call plus-sized women derogatory names for being overweight? I thought we left that shameless behavior behind when the dinosaurs died off. To add insult to injury, a female editor published it! When I brought it to the attention of the publisher, his response was, “What seems to be the problem?”
