This year, I’ve spent a lot of time drifting.

My motivation levels are at an all-time low. It’s hard to be inspired. I‘m wondering what direction to take. ~ Tree Langdon

I highlighted that entire statement in Tree’s recent piece, How To Find Clarity In 3 Questions. It resonated with me because for as many plans as I had this year, nearly none of them came to fruition. In March, I joined a gym, and by April, I was working out two hours a day, six days a week. By April 30, my world imploded. I ended up in the ER with an asthma attack so severe it did heart damage, and I spent four days in the hospital.

They were supposed to run a test in nuclear medicine but then decided not to do it. I was discharged. A few days later, I was admitted again through the ER. I had blood clots in both lungs and both legs. If they had run the test a few days prior like they were supposed to, it would have been caught sooner. I was lucky that I didn’t die of a heart attack or a stroke. Worse yet, I could have been driving at 55 or 65 MPH and killed myself and someone else if one of those blood clots had moved at that moment. At the beginning of July, I had a deep, left brain stem stroke.
