I can't tell you how many times I've passed on reading a piece just because of the image. The title catches my attention, the image doesn't seem to have anything to do with the title. Since I can't be sure, on the surface, what the piece is actually about I skip it.

There's way too much on Medium to read without having to do a psychological deep dive on whether to click on a piece or not.
