I don't even remember why I got into it back in 2016. Maybe I saw one too many Ancestry commercials. But now I'm glad I did for so many reasons. One, I found out that the men on my dad's side has a history of strokes. Two, I had assumed that we were all blue collar as far back as time went. Imagine my shock when I learned of the royals and nobles on the tree. Then there was finding out that I wasn't all English and Irish but Scandinavian, Native American, and many others. I also learned that my mom's dad is a direct descendant of the one we call Pocahontas. And that mom's great grandfather had been murdered by his brothers-in-laws.
None of this was ever talked about on either side of the family!
