I grew up on a 5 acre farm in southern Delaware. We raised chickens for Perdue, had a large garden of fruits and vegtables, and had fields full of soybeans and corn made for livestock. I drove a John Deere before I was old enough to drive a car.
Mom did some canning but mostly freezing. We had a chest freezer out in the garage. Dad and the men on mom's side were all hunters. Dad's side not so much but they did some.
Dad's parents raised hogs that were killed for meat and lard.
Both grandmothers did a LOT of canning and freezing.
So yeah, I think I could do okay. My body is beat up so I can't lift and haul like I used to but I could maintain but more importantly,
I could teach whoever else wanted to learn.
