I lived in an economically repressed area. The only job I could find was 30 mins away and minimum wage. Then, because he wanted to make his money, he insisted that we clock out at 5pm but we weren't allowed to escort people in the store out. We worked a lot of unpaid OT. Karma being what it is, instead of his shop being a block long now it's just a corner store.

Then there was the realization that a store manager in the DC area would shove employees out the door at the end of their shift but ride them on the clock about getting all of the work done. Come to find out he was getting bonuses based on his ability to keep payroll low.
