“I Say Let The 1% Go”
My comment on a recent article
A few days ago one of my favorite writers on the platform, Benny Lim, wrote about how some of the heavy hitters of Medium were leaving the site. Here’s the comment I left.
I say let the 1% go. It means that the glass ceiling is now open so that those of us in the $100 Club can now finally graduate!
I’m doing the work but there just isn’t any elbow room. When you have new writers writing and publishing on established writers just so they can justify tagging the 1% for recognition… it’s all just so ridiculous.
I now have four publications. Four personal and one travel pub. I have Lists filled up. I’m on Twitter. My next task? Signing up for Natural Readers and having audio clips added to some of my stories for the visually impaired.

The payout on Medium is reminiscent of the US economy overall. The majority of the people make less than $50 here. What passes as “middle class” are those of us who make over $100 a month. If you’re “middle class” you’re in the 6.4% of earners. Then there are those who claim to make hundreds if not thousands a month writing…
