I was 45 before I ever went to college. I hated school as a kid. But what I had been doing was no longer working. I signed up for Criminal Justice with a minor in forensics. Then life happened as it often does. My roommate took off & so I ended up homeless and bouncing around from couch to couch. I had to drop out.

I never got to finish the degree that I had been told would land me a 6 figure job upon graduation (computer forensics). It wasn't from the lack of trying on my part. So yes, my loans have been forgiven. They have been since January. I didn't apply. I didn't ask for it. They were just wiped clean. I don't know if there was a statute of limitations on them or what the deal was. But they're gone nonetheless.

And I am glad of it.
