I wouldn't call it self-evident or why write about it? And publishing daily or multiple times a day won't matter if your writing sucks. That's where views come in. Someone clicked on your piece and then clicked right back off. Never read it. That's why we don't get paid for views.
The only time you may want to evaluate views is to see if there is a pattern. Is there one method or one subject what-have-you, that you used/wrote about that people clicked on but didn't stay around to read?
Use that information to modify your output.
As for me, I'm just here to write. I have my own income outside of Medium so I don't need to get rich here. But I am a full-time writer on the platform and it shows. Want success? Treat it like a job and not a hobby. ;-)
