I've been drinking instant coffee for years now. I've been having problems with the old ticker too so I have also switched to decaf.

My fave I make in the winter. Heat up a cup of milk instead of water. Then use Nescafe instant coffee. It makes it much richer and tastes like a frou-frou drink from a coffee house.
