I've seen a view articles of late kicking this idea around.

A few weeks ago, I read an article where the author theorized how Medium could alter their Partner Program to rewards authors for external views. The author suggested that if Medium ran ads for non-Medium members, they could reward the author with a portion of the ad revenue. Paying Medium members would continue to experience the website ad-free, since they’re already contributing their $5/month. It’s an interesting idea with potential, and there’s people on either side of the fence.

I've seen a view articles of late kicking this idea around. I'm all for it. A lot of sites do this. I don't see why Medium shouldn't as well.
