Legislating Morality Because the Human Race Has None

And it doesn’t work

I can’t even with the human race anymore. I just can’t even. God, it is exhausting dealing with some of you people. And by “some of you people” I am referring to you asshats that make it necessary for laws like this to become a thing in the first place.

We had to have seatbelt laws because too many people were getting killed. I say revoke the law. And helmet laws for motorcyclists. If people want to die, I say let them. Who are we to legislate stupidity? Hell, seatbelts wouldn’t even be necessary if people knew how to drive. Oh, but we have laws for that too! Stop at a stop sign. Yield to oncoming traffic. Pedestrians have the right of way.

Fuck.

Things that should be common damn sense have to be legislated. What in the actual fuck? We had to pass laws saying that it’s wrong to rape. That it’s wrong to molest. That it’s wrong to steal. That it’s wrong to hit. That it’s wrong to set fires to other people’s property. That it’s wrong… That it’s wrong… That it’s wrong… That it’s wrong… That it’s wrong…

But it doesn’t stop. That’s why we have cops. And lawyers. And jails. And judges. And more laws because no one heeded the first set of laws. When does the bullshit ever stop? And now this is a “thing”.
