Statement: Mental illness is way too common in the United States.

And we know this for sure, how? Because the US government always tells its citizens the truth? Because they would never use its citizens as lab test animals? The US government has done all of that so no, that can’t be it.

How about maybe we’re misdiagnosed because we still don’t know what we’re doing?

Or better yet, how about the pharmaceutical companies make billions every year on prescription medications so it’s to their benefit if this country stays overly medicated?

How about the FDA is short for False Data-driven Assholes?

Statement: I started counting all the mentally disturbed neighbors in our cul-de-sac.

We’re you and your husband on the front porch in matching rocking chairs? Because if so and you’re down south I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you, dear heart, are the crazy ones. “Everyone” knows that southerners put their crazies on the front porch for show.

Statement:… but we’ve never met the other families, despite living here for over 5 years. They barely venture out of their homes.

Maybe word got out that you and your old man sit on the front porch counting live bodies. Not cool, man. Not cool.

Statement: 20% of the current U.S. population is mentally distressed.

Mental illnesses are health conditions involving changes in emotion, thinking, or behavior (or a combination of these). Mental illnesses are associated with distress and/or problems functioning in social work or family activities. Mental illness is common. — Psychiatry.org

See that last line there, cupcake? Common. As in prevalent. Something you would see a lot. And what else do you notice about that last line?

Not one mention of any one specific country. Now, how about that? Facts backed up with canonical links. Wow. And from a reliable source, no less.

Statement: I’m no expert, but…

Imma just leave that right there. ‘Nuff said.

Statement: Declining Marriage Rates and High Divorce Rates = SAD & LONELY SINGLES

Aww, look who has lived the Leave it to Beaver life. How cute are you? Maybe, just maybe June, marriage rates are declining because, pffft, oh I don’t know…

WOMEN DON’T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH A MAN’S BULLSHIT ANYMORE?

This isn’t the 1950s where a woman’s only options were secretary, nurse, or wife & mother. That’s it. Those were your options. Now women not only make their own money, but they also run their own businesses. SHOCK HORROR GASP

More like EYE ROLL

Women can have their own bank accounts, their own money, their own lines of credit, and own property. Getting married is no longer a career option. It’s a choice.

The same goes for those “HIGH DIVORCE RATES” that ranked all CAPS.

Sheesh. Dramatic much there, June?

How about domestic violence? How about child abuse? How about domestic rape? Yes, you can be in a relationship and be raped. Who knew!

Sad and lonely? Psssssht I doubt it.

Statement: Excessive dependence on Opioid Drugs = MENTAL HARAKIRI

CDC
HHS (“Content last reviewed on February 19, 2021”)
NIDA

Three federal government agencies, their websites, with canonical links to the “opioid” crisis. Guess what? No states prior to 2019. If you’re going to make this an issue for 2021, you’re going to have to try harder. Even the Health and Human Services website was just peeped out by its own people in Feb to review the content. Even so, no new “news”. Gee, I wonder why that is.

Your stats are from 2015 to 2019. Nothing newer available? Okay. I get that. But then,

Don’t base your “article” on old stats and try to sell it like it's news!

Stop waving “your” American flag and then trash-talking the country under whose freedoms you have the freedom to talk trash about!

If anyone wants to read this “article” it’s here.
