Never write for any publication that shoves 100+ posts per day. Yours will at some point during the day end up at the bottom. With each new post they publish, yours sinks further and further down.

Then you also can't count on follower count. Last year Medium did a purge and Illumination lost over 60% of its followers as bots and fake accounts.
