And don’t hold your breath for me to be either

If you’re over 30 and have lived your entire life in the US and still don’t know that the government lies to you then I’ve got swamp land in Florida and a bridge in London I’d love to sell you.

With that being said…

I only had issues with blood clots once in my life. December 2018. It turned out to be my final deployment. I flew from the mid-Atlantic region to the bowels of Alabama. Two long flights and then a bus ride into the night to arrive at the military base I was so tired I could have slept on my luggage in the lobby.

I was on base for a 10-day training when I noticed I was having trouble putting weight on my left leg. I powered through it and got back home. Picked up where I left off with physical therapy. It was the PT therapist that urged me to see my Primary. I was a reservist with the feds so my full-time job was healthcare.

You’d think I’d know better.

I blew it off. I told her I had an overweight Parkinson’s patient that I literally had to get in the shower with (always carry a second set of scrubs!) to get him in and out. I probably just pivoted wrong and pulled a muscle. After three weeks of the limp getting worse, I finally broke down and scheduled a sick patient appointment…
