Nope. It should be given more teeth, not less. The crime rate in this country is as high as it is because the death penalty is a joke and everyone (especially criminals) knows it.

Death row means a life sentence, not death.

I'm all about the three strikes. First trial=guilty. Second=not guilty. The third is the tie breaker. If it comes back with a guilty verdict then within seven calendar days you and your maker are doing brunch. No fourth, fifth, and ninetieth appeal. No 30-years sitting around and waiting. No Kim Kardashian flying to DC to visit the sitting president to get you an early release.

In, out, done. I'm talking Express Lane service. Once it happens consistently and constantly; when wanna-be thugs that hop like rabbits while shooting a semi-automatic in a parkinglot are fried; when white males shooting up schools are given a lethal injection; then and only then will some of the madness stop.
