It’s been a long day at work. And a hot one at that. Even with the AC on in the car, his cotton dress shirt clings to him in sweat by the time he reaches the front door. He grabs the mail from the mailbox as he strides up and unlocks the door. As he swings it open, he sees her coming towards him.

He opens his mouth to give his evening greeting, and she places a finger to his lips to quiet him before he utters the first syllable. She takes his briefcase from him and sits it on the floor next to the entryway chair. She takes his suit jacket and hangs it on the back of the chair. At the end of the day, the jacket is still impeccably pressed as he disdains to have to wear it. But it’s part of the job. As is the tie, which she has also removed and placed over the jacket.

She takes him by the hand and leads him to the couch in the next room. She gently pushes him back so he can sit. She kneels and removes his shoes and sits them to the side. She stands before him, face softened, and then moves in. She gets one knee up on the couch and then the other, straddling him. She leans in and wraps her arms around his neck.

She inhales the smell that makes him, him, and sighs deeply. She nuzzles the side of his face, his neck, and then settles in. Body-to-body they are. They exist. He…
