Red Pill or Blue Pill?

Which do YOU choose?

The terms “red pill” and “blue pill” refer to a choice between revealing an unpleasant or otherwise life-changing truth, represented by the red pill, and remaining in blissful ignorance, represented by the blue pill. The terms reference the 1999 film The Matrix.

No, I never saw the Matrix. *gasp*!

Using Wiki’s definitions I’m definitely a blue pill girl. I want to know. I want to know it all. And I want to know right now. Depending upon what the ‘know’ is, I also want to know what’s going to be done about it. Even if it means that I have to do it alone.

I spent a great deal of my life living in “blissful ignorance”. I was raised much like the Walton’s. No one locked their front doors at night. We kept our keys in the ignition, and our car windows rolled down. Kids played out of earshot and eyeballs, because they knew neighbors were watching them. And not in a creepy way. Don’t screw up eight blocks from home. You’d get a lecture from the entire neighborhood on the way home and then a spanking once you got there!

I drove a John Deere before I was old enough to drive a car. I worked for a paycheck starting at 15. Hard work, self-reliance, and neighbors protecting neighbors, were all that I knew of the world. That and the butterscotch candy my grandmother kept in her…
