Something else that I remembered I had forgotten. Contrary postal employees of days gone by. I don’t know if it was just the 70s or if it was the area that I grew up in but oh my God. They are reminiscent of the librarians of a bygone era. When you could be shushed into an embarrassed silence. Nowadays I have to shush them so I can concentrate.
Once upon a time if you didn’t have your stamp just right it would be rejected by the post office. Put it on crooked? Nope. Not taking it. Put it on upside down? Definitely not accepting it. Totally not paying attention and putting it on the wrong corner altogether (don’t judge)? You’re just screwed.
