When A “Wellness Check” Call Goes Out and You’re The Reason Why
Apparently, I freaked some people out this morning.
--
I wake up, roll over, go back to sleep. Wake up, roll over, and go back to sleep. I think I did this three times this morning. I was totally out of it. I wish I could say it was because I had been out partying last night but alas,
It was that shot of Nyquil I hit.
As the fog began to lift I had to search around for information. What time is it? Hell, what day is it? As the information comes in and the fog rolls out I start to realize that I missed a doctor’s appointment this morning. The doc had called and left a message she said when I got online. Turns out, she had one of the digits in my number wrong.
As I’m emailing my doctor (Yes, I have her email because I don’t exploit its use), I shot her message and we Zoomed instead. I had received a text from someone on the “call down list” wanting to know if I was okay. She got a, “Yep” as I was searching frantically for my headphones to jump on Zoom.
By the time I had finished Zoom, yet another person was trying to reach me. I picked up her call and explained to her that I was fine and what had happened.
It’s nice to know that I can be 30 minutes late showing up and there’s a SWAT team set loose to find my azz.
