When I did disaster response and recovery for the feds, I opted for a 4 day work week when allowed. I had every other Friday off and a short Friday the other weeks. I paired up the off Fridays with weekends that had holidays so I'd have as much as 9 days off (Thanksgiving) without having to use leave. It was great.
I had my off days to myself to do what needed to be done as opposed to during the height of disaster seasson having to use a vacation day to do 8 hours worth of laundry. We were working so much I literally had no time. I used my lunch break to go to the mall and buy more clothes. That's how nuts that job could be.
So yeah, I liked having my time off with pay whenever I could get it!
