When I first started on Medium I said many times that I found the clapping method of approval confusing. Is 1 clap an insult? What about all of the newbies who don't realize that this doesn't perform like other social media?

What's wrong with the 5-star rating system that SO many other websites use? 1 star=you suck. 5-stars=you rock. Everyone knows that. At least I hope so!
