When I was an editor for a largish pub on here I only cared about the things Medium cares about.

Title, subtitle, image, image citation. No stealing. Paragraphs are to be, on average, 4-5 paragraphs long depending on how long the sentences are.

That's pretty much it. Everything else is arbitrary.
