While all of this was going on he kicked into his passive aggressive mode at full speed. I was still able to see and comment in Slack right up until the moment I threw my hands up and said, "I give up.:

In a comment on that very day he made a comment in the editors' channel that it was good to see things back as they were (inferring prior to me being brought on) because everyone was chatting and happy and there was no negativity about writers.

So in true Terry fashion, I said 'there's that passive-aggressive leadership style that we all know, love, and admire' or words to that effect. I went on to say that a real leader would put an end to the mess instead of continuing to stir the pot.

I dropped the same good-bye in about 4 editors' DMs of 'I'm tired of this sociopath. I'm done. Here's my email address if you want to stay in touch' and I closed my Slack account.

I then removed myself as an editor from SYNERGY and never looked back. I've been in a much better mood, much lighter, much more productive since. As it should be when you walk away from a toxic environment.
