Yes, it’s a 17-minute read. You’ll live. But you’ll need the back story if you haven’t been in the loop with this week’s episode of As the Stupid Turns-Illumination edition. So here it is.

Some chick hard up for likes, claps, comments, and followers wrote a piece.

That piece caught the attention of one of Illumination’s editors (I use the term loosely-not all but some-sheesh). They brought it to the attention of all editors on Slack.

From that, a fair piece was written by one of the senior editors. On his piece, a former editor turned publication owner, and still prolific writer of Medium came to my defense (oh yeah, the original piece was about yours truly) I the comment section. She wasn’t the only one. She was simply the one targeted.

From her comment (are you able to keep up at all at this point) the “Editor of Technology Hits” and we all know who that is, wrote a passive-aggressive piece where he called her out specifically. Not because she supported me but because the ETH has a long-standing issue with this writer and instead of either addressing it head-on or, God forbid, just letting it the frack go, he decides to take the fight to the streets of Medium.

Classy and professional for a senior editor, amiright?

She then comes to her own defense in a comment on that piece. Which in turn… anyone…anyone…

Yep. Led the ETH to write another piece about her and this one? Holy mother of God.

The first piece he wrote about her was unprofessional as a publisher/senior editor but the quality of the writing was horrific. But the second piece was outright lawsuit inspiring.

And I told her so.

It was so scathing, so childish, so damaging that I reported the Editor of Technology Hits and the piece that was published. I’ve already received an email from the Help Desk that they are looking into it and will take the appropriate action.

So to all of you who have that red Solo cup of Kool-Aid in your hands, you may want to set it down and read this.
