You CAN self-publish on Medium AND publish the same piece in a publication with no duplication.

You CANNOT publish the same piece in two pubs on Medium.

You CAN publish on Medium and another online platform. If you publish it elsewhere first then on Medium, you have to make that statement at the bottom of your post.
