You Know You Shouldn’t Have Clicked On It

But you did it anyway!

You did it. Yes, you did. I know you did. How do I know? Because you’re on Medium writing about it that’s how.

“All I get in my feed is garbage. Rants, politics, how to make a million dollars on Medium. I’m sick of all of it! Where is My Tribe? My people? The topics that I love to read about. WHERE ARE THEY?!?!”

Look familiar?

It should because now on top of all of those other things filling people’s feeds we have the ‘Al Go Rhythm sucks’ threads showing up now.

So what went wrong?

You did my friend. You did.

Ever been in a checkout line that is taking way too long and your eyes begin to wander. Gum. Candy. Sodas. Bottles of water. Rain Panchos. Flashlight batteries. All of that crap to keep you and your kids occupied while you wait for your turn. This is called impulse buying. Retailers put stuff at checkouts for that reason and that reason alone. To get you to grab last-minute, probably not needed, items and toss them in your cart.

Then you see it. The front cover of some national tabloid spilling all the tea on the latest Harry and Meghan scandal.
